Write for
The Winchelsea Star

Send The Star an item for publication in the next edition.

Whether you'd like to write a full article, a Letter to the Editor to highlight something, or an opinion piece to get people thinking and debating, The Winchelsea Star would like your contributions.

This is a community newspaper, and it is very important that it reflects its readership. What interests you, what bugs you, what needs doing, what's happening, and more.

You don't need to be a pro writer, and while we may correct some obvious stuff it's more important that you write in your own style without worrying whether it will fit in with anything.

Of course, standards and policies do apply. No plagiarism, no personal attacks, no libel/slander, no offensive material. The Editor's decision on whether to publish or edit any submission is final.

PLEASE NOTE: all items submitted for publication are included or rejected at the Editor-of-the-day's discretion. Items may be edited to fit available space, or split across more than 1 edition if deemed appropriate. Let the Editor know if you have particular concerns or requirements.

Deadline for submissions is 5pm Friday

Submissions are assumed to be for the subsequent edition (ie. the following Monday) unless otherwise noted. Late submissions are likely to be held over to a following edition.

Exceptions are made for weekend sports and events results/reports - 6pm Sunday deadline for these (4pm if leaving hard-copy at the IGA).
